Southern Safe Rooms is Tulsa’s number one provider of storm shelters and safe rooms. Michael Tidwell created Southern Safe Rooms to fill a desperate need for a quality, well-built, safe room in northeast Oklahoma. After seeing the EF5 tornado that ripped through North East Oklahoma and Joplin, Missouri, the inspiration to begin making storm shelters in safe to rooms to protect people from this horrific storms sparked. The shelters are fabricated in downtown Tulsa by southern sheet metal works, Inc., Southern Safe Rooms’ parent company.

On the Southern Safe Rooms website, link here, is a page that lists the products, their sizes, and the prices. However, they also offer custom built to fit anyone specific needs. And, client can set up a free measurement an estimate for their custom safe room installation. Typically, these safe rooms are installed inside your home, grudges, workshops, or anywhere with a reinforced concrete slab. The safe rooms themselves are backed by an engineers seal of Southern Safe Roomsapproval. Located on the safe room door is a peep hole for the occupants to Easley check the status of the storm without having to open the door. Also included are three ventilation panels within the safe room so there is an ample supply of air. The doors are on hinges so that in case of emergency the hinge pig can be knocked out and the door can be removed with the included hammer for each safe room. As for locks, they use a grade one medeco lock.

 

Southern Safe Rooms Financing and Rebates

The communication federal credit union is currently offering homeowners storm shelter loans at .75% APR for qualify to borrowers. This is not an introductory rate, meaning it will be your rate for the term of the loan. Soonersafe is a program to provide a rebate for purchase and installation of safe rooms for eligible Oklahoma homeowners across the state. The Chickasaw nation offers a program that provides storm shelters are privately owned homes of Chickasaw citizens.
